The tenth annual

New Orleans Superhero Race

is back on the Greenway!

Dust off your favorite cape and join us on the Lafitte Greenway for the 10th Annual Superhero Race on Sunday, October 22nd presented by Chalmette Refining!

All proceeds from the race benefit CASA New Orleans, a nonprofit that fights for the rights of abused and neglected children in St. Bernard and Orleans parishes.

At CASA, we believe that every child needs a hero, but children who have been abused or neglected need superheroes. Whether you run in a cape or just your favorite t-shirt, your participation is a heroic show of support for CASA and the children it serves.

Juan Kincaid
Favorite Route:  I bike a 5K and then some on the Westbank levee pretty much everyday. I ride from the Gretna ferry to the Naval base and beyond. It’s five miles one way and I do a round trip ride.
Favorite Hero: My hero is my mother Jessie. Just because she is.

Running Song: I’m usually listening to old school hip hop on the ride. Singing and riding the entire time. I like to ride to the beat of the music. I drift back and forth from Akon to Al Green to Aloe Blacc and Simply Red. My musical choices on my ride are all over the place.

Bryan Batt

Favorite Route: I like to walk the parks, but I really like to walk the neighborhoods of New Orleans and see all of the gorgeous architecture we have all over the city.

Favorite Hero: Unsung heroes, the good people doing good things when the cameras are off

Running Song: “Don’t Stop Me Now” – Queen

Kate Corkern

Favorite Route: I like to jog my 5k. I normally run by my old middle school, but I like to run in state parks.

Favorite Hero: My heroes are the people who do good things, even when no one is watching, or if they don’t benefit from it.

Running Song: I like to listen to the Grease and Six the Musical Soundtracks
