The first annual Superhero Race will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 8:30 AM. It will start at Tulane University and make its way through Audubon Park. The starting line is on McAllister between Freret and the LBC; the race finishes in the Monroe quad.

Dressed in Superhero costumes, the runners will race a 5k course through Audubon Park, while children age 12 and under will race a 1k course. Runners will compete to win prizes for best costume, best pet costume, and most money raised by a group. After the race, entertainment from a live band and food vendors will be provided at the finish line on Tulane University’s campus.

Proceeds from the race benefit CASA New Orleans, a nonprofit that fights for the rights of abused and neglected children, and GNO CAPE, a collaborative of organizations led by the New Orleans Children’s Advocacy Center and dedicated to child abuse prevention and awareness.
